The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science Academic Personnel Office, located in 7420 Boelter Hall, serves academic personnel for the School in its broad scope of activities for academic and apprentice personnel employment and administrative support to the Dean. Such academic personnel matters include appointment, appraisals, merit increases, promotions, sabbaticals, special leaves and changes-in-status for roster faculty, temporary teaching and research staff. In addition, the HSSEAS Academic Personnel Office is responsible for the School’s academic salaries budget and management of funds supporting teaching assistant and Dean’s funded graduate student assistantships, as well as Deans and Chairs administrative and summer compensation.

With the ever-changing policies of the University of California, the mission of the HSSEAS Academic Personnel Office is to serve as a resource to our School’s managers and administrators, to develop guidelines and consult with staff involved in academic and apprentice personnel administration, and to act as liaison between department administrators, Deans, Chancellor’s staff and campus administration in resolving problems.
